Understandably, policymakers in Washington, DC wanted to instill consumer protection regulation and native blockchain users wanted to help regulators implement balanced regulation. The event took place in Washington, DC to educate over 100 policy makers and highlight innovators in the space such as Polygon, Filecoin and Umoja Labs.

The programing for "Coinbase Presents: Web3 IRL," highlighted speakers like Brian Armstrong (Coinbase CEO) and Ryan Wyatt (President at Polygon Labs) discussing the future of web3, decentralized finance (DeFi), blockchain scalability, and interoperability.
The location and layout were carefully chosen to promote networking and discussion of important matters. The Russell Senate Building's Kennedy Caucus Room in Washington DC added weight to the topics at hand because of its historical significance as the location of notable senate investigations such as Watergate, the Army vs. McCarthy hearings, and Pearl Harbor.
